Aldeburgh has two wonderful courses, the 18 hole course and the River course.

By modern standards, the 18 hole course is not long, but its challenge for men lies in the fact that there are no par fives on the card and that, inevitably, the wind will be against on more than one of the eight holes measuring in excess of 400 yards. At first glance, the talented lady golfer will decide that length is not a problem but to look at the length is to ignore all the other facets that make up a unique golfing challenge.
A recent review of the golf course culminated in a decision to strip out and manage some of the gorse, adjust the bunkering, extend and add interest to some of the greens and build a handful of championship tees - all of this to add value to the already challenging course. See History and 18 hole Course for more information.
