This is one of the longest par four’s for men and a par five for ladies, which needs a long, well-placed drive to give the player any chance of making par. Beware the carry bunkers and gorse on the right and the three bunkers down the left-hand side. The second shot is likely to be a fairway wood to the green some 200 yards or more away over intimidating cross-bunkers. There’s not much room for error here as there is only a narrow gap between the bunkers to the left and right of the green. The putting surface needs to be studied carefully, as it is undulating and deceptive in its slopes.
