This is a testing par four for both ladies and gentlemen. The drive needs to be kept away from the bunker on the right of the fairway which has quite a steep face. The second shot for most players is a long iron or fairway wood downhill to a green guarded by bunkers left and right. The approach shot tends to run through the green, and during the summer the player should aim to pitch 15 or 20 yards short of the surface to let the ball run in. This of course brings the left approach bunker into play. Ideally a long drive on this hole, followed by a shorter iron onto the green is a perfect way to play the seventh.
